Hello Jenny I was having problems sending emails earlier so I sent you a direct message. Can you tell us the forenames of your people from Leaton and the approximate dates. The local 'big house' was Leaton Knolls which was owned by the LLOYD family until it was demolished in the mid 1900's. Leaton Hall still exists and is situated at the junction of the Shrewsbury to Baschurch road with the road leading to Leaton level crossing near Bomere Heath. Have a look at the 1888 map on the link below http://www.british-history.ac.uk/mapsheet.aspx?compid=55135&sheetid=7318&ox=2445&oy=946&zm=1&czm=1&x=100&y=231 If you are not local and would like some photographs I can do some for you. One was a gamekeeper and it seems they had a connection with Leaton Hall. Does anyone know anything about Leaton Hall please? I'm guessing it was a big country estate, but is it still there? > > > > >From internet research that I've done, Leaton still looks like a rural area outside Shrewsbury. What is the difference between Atcham and Shrewsbury? Some of my ancestors are registered under Atcham, others under Shrewsbury, and I'm confused. > > > > Jenny COLE > > _________________________________________________________________ > http://clk.atdmt.com/UKM/go/197222280/direct/01/ > Do you have a story that started on Hotmail?
