Knockin is only roughly one mile from Kinnerley and one would suppose that people might say they were from Kinnerley when asked. The microfiche collection for Knockin (such a small place) from 1661 to 1812 is less than one fiche, whereas Kinnerley is four fiche. This Mary would have been of full age. I just noticed that the IGI gives a Mary Griffiths christened at Kinnerley 1766 (still a minor though, perhaps, but not necessarily so as she could have been born a year prior to christening.) Next time I'll have a look at the fiche again to see if I missed that one, or what. Might be some clues. Might get lucky. Could be it was indexed as only MY! There are also a number of Marys of elligible age being christened at Oswestry. Cheers Graham
