    1. [ENG-SHROP] DANKS in Madeley
    2. Bob & Carolyn Duemig
    3. Hello, I am new to the list and am searching the JOHN DANKS family. John was baptized in Madeley Oct 3 1791. This record has parents Thomas and Ann Danks. I know John married Ann Brenner,or Brammer. John had a son Peter that by family records was also born in Madeley in 1918.and a daughter Emma born the same year. I cant find their births anywhere. I did find a daughter Lidia born in Llanwenarth, Monmouthshire June 4 1821. John , Ann, Peter and Lidia immigrated to the United States in 1823 from Liverpool. The name Thomas follows thru down this line so I think this probably is the right person but I have nothing else on Thomas. I would greatly appreciate any info on this family or anyone in England working on this family. I plan to go to Madeley but would like to know where to start. It doesn't seem right for one child to be born so far from the other. Does that seem possible to anyone? Best wishes and Thank you Carolyn

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: ojimz Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.england.sal.general/6596/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I came across an occupations 'breachesmaker' in the Oswestry PR. Previously he was a brick maker and somewhere in my memory banks I think a breachesmaker was someone who worked at a brickkiln. I have been unable to find any information except that a breach maker made breaches for guns. I do not believe this to be the case for this person and given Oswestry's connection with brickmaking I am hoping that someone will will able to point me in the right direction. Many Thanks Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. Hi Peter Crockford, is of course, online but you have to pay. http://www.crockford.org.uk/ I see that you can sign up as a new subscriber for one year at £25 stirling. That seems to be quite a lot to me considering that most folk would only be looking for the odd minister or two in their own lifetime. Can't see why these folk don't make it 20p or so for a search and result. But obviously they are not going to do that, so I guess you are stuck with other folk who have Crockford in their local library to look up for you. Crockford is in our State Library, so if you do not have any other replies to the positive within the next week or so I shall look him up for you. Hopefully someone may be able to do it faster than I can. Another thought is the Oswestry Border Counties newspaper which detailed obituaries etc. Someone who lives in Oswestry may be able to access the microfilm index in the Oswestry Library for you, or you may be able to write to the local librarian Derek Williams, Arthur Street Oswestry SY11 1JN. Their website can be found through http://www.shropshire.gov.uk/library.nsf/open/FFAD4D758B3AAB2E80256CD2004AD81C Good hunting Graham Melbourne Oz

Hi Sandra In 2003 Susan West at [email protected] was researching Anslow families of Culmington, record of such still in the Eng-Shropshire archives. Five years down the track, not sure if she would still have the same email address, but you can try. Hugh Wallis' IGI Batch No. website shows no marriages for Anslow post 1627 Hopton Wafers. Seems very few Anslows around Salop in those days showing up at the established church. Could be some registers not yet transcribed to the IGI? Possible reason. Cheers Graham Melbourne Oz.
