I have some Lilleshall records and have found the following.: Fanny Maud Watkiss, daughter of Margaret Watkiss, a single woman of Donnington, baptised at Lilleshall on 19.12.1882 There are two other baptisms who may be children of Margaret/Margaretta and John William Hawkins...as follows Grace Hannah Mary, daughter of John William and Margaretta Hawkins of Donnington, a laourer, baptised 15.2.1885 John William, son of John William and Margaret of Donnington, a stoker baptised 19.4.1891. There is a burial of a John William Hawkins aged 28 of Donnington, buried 5.2.1891 I hope this is your family and is of some help to you. Happy Christmas to everyone Diane.
If Santa were to give me the Christmas gift of a lifetime it would be for someone to find the birth and marriage of my George IVESON - Born around Wellington/Wem about 1831 - taking his age from censuses and his death certificate. Married about 1849 to May - born Anglesey. There is only one George Iveson about that date in the IGI - christened in Hodnet in 1824. Dare I claim him as mine despite the seven years difference in age? And yes, I have searched using every spelling variation I can think of. I know I have posted this query several times before, but one lives on hope. Happy Christmas to all and every best wish to for the New Year. Elaine in Toronto

Sounds like you have a "sound" plan going. The marriage is interesting in that there is no "sign of it." However, if there are Welsh roots there also may be some Welsh resource as a wedding site..........such as a grandparent's [s'] home/s across the line. I do encourage you to check out the Welsh 1841 and 1851 census pages with a SOUNDEX of the surname DYTOR......there are some English marriages of similar spellings of the verisions found in both the English and Welsh lists in the soundex. It may give you some ideas. Best of Hunting! Linda Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Fanny was definately born in Donnington, Lilleshall, Shropshire England. However I have found many discrepencies on the genealogy sites over my months of researching my family tree. It makes it difficult at times to make an exact match. I believe that Fanny was born out of wedlock as she lived next door with her Grandfather Edwin Watkiss (ancestry has it as "Watkin"). Fanny's parents were Margaretta Hawkins nee Watkiss born 1863 in Dorsley Shropshire and John William Hawkins born also in 1863 in Shropshire. Her father died in Mar 1891, which is the year of the census. I had to do ALOT of digging to find out the information that I have done so far. It is very interesting that I can find all this info out but nothing at all comes up on the 1901 census. I have extensive information as to her birth and such but absolutely nothing as to her death. She came over to Canada in 1930 and resided in Ontario for years. I am desparately trying to find her somewheres in the 1901 ! census. Thank You again... I have George and Elizabeth on the census 1861 thru to 1901 and have found record of their deaths but not yet obtained certs. I do have birth cert for their son Clement (my maternal grandfather) and this states father's name George Bagley, mother's name Elizabeth Deyter (another variation of the spelling of Dytor !) However, I will persevere and who knows one day I might find something. Thanks Mavis Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I have George Bagley with his family on 1841 and 1851 in Grimsbury, Northants and I have Elizabeth Dytor with her family on 1841 and 1851 in Poynton, Shropshire. I had also found the info about their deaths but not yet obtained death certs (on pension so finance is limited - lol). I also have George and Elizabeth on the 1861-71-81-91 and 1901. Various members of the Dytor family seem to have drifted about mainly in Shropshire between Tong and Shawbury, High Ercall etc. I do have their son Clement's birth cert and this gives his father's name as George Bagley and mother's name Elizabeth Bagley formerly Deyter - another variation of the name Dytor. I will persevere and try your various suggestions. Once again thank you. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Hello List, The names that I am researching are Merchant(Marchant) and Bailey(Bayley) from Wellington or Dawley Magna areas. My Merchants were miners like a lot of others in the area. Hoping someone may be researching these names, although I realise Bailey is a very common name. Merry Christmas to all, Cheers, Sandra from Sydney

Elizabeth in Dec Qtr of 1915 age 77 and George in 1913 at age of 82 June qtr. A death cert might be useful but the children's births are most useful with the information of the parents. You might want one for George and Elizabeth but George was born in 1833. His records would be in the Church and Parish records of Northamptonshire, and Grimsbury likely also a place to look would be Banbury.
