Most of my family come from a tiny part of Suffolk, but one branch seems to have wandered in from Sheffield My Surname interests around Sheffield are Hough Pring Morton My dead ends in these lines are: 1. Walter Hough b c1843 at Cliffstone, Nottinghamshire. a. Moved to 140 Allen Street, Sheffield (pre 1871 Census) I know nothing of him or his family before this. b. He married someone called Emma (I know nothing else of here) 2. Frederick Samuel Pring b Birmingham 1817 a. moved to 62 Farfield Road, Sheffield between 1871 and 1881 (census) b. he owned a mineral bottle factory according to family folklore c. believed to have been a freemason (is it possible to find out more about this) d. Married Hannah Morton 3. Hannah Morton a. Known as Hannah Pring when moved to Sheffield between 1871 and 1881 b. Said to have owned a cooked meats shop in Rudyard Road, Sheffield. c. lived at 62 Farfield Road, Sheffield until 1901-05 Any help that can help me get over these dead ends would be appreciated. I am writing a family history rather than a family tree and I live in Leicester - so any local history that seems relevant would be great. Thanks Julie
