I've been looking on ancestry.co.uk on and off for days, but I cannot find this family - not even one member of them. Please, if anyone has a spare life or two could they have a go - I'm probably just missing something? Frederick Henry Hattersley RUDD born Feb 1841 Sheffield (Philips Road) Hannah Elizabeth RUDD (nee HIBBERT) bap 22 Jan 1837 Sheffield (Carver St Wes Meth Chapel) Laura Eleanor RUDD born Apr 1864 Ecclesall Bierlow (Monmouth Street) In 1861 Frederick is listed twice, (he's single - doesn't get married until next year 1862) 119 Ecclesall Road, Ecclesall Bierlow Russells Buildings, Broom Spring Lane, Ecclesall Bierlow by 1881 Frederick and his family are at 2 Brincliffe Hill Road, Ecclesall Bierlow by 1891 Frederick and his wife are at 1 ctg. Olivet Road, Norton (Ecclesall Bierlow) No matter what tricks I try, I cannot find this family in 1871. Others called Frederick, Hannah and Laura pop up, but all have some detail wrong, and to the best of my ability I've disproved those odd entries. Would be grateful if anyone can find them. (AND there ought to be a bonus if you find Frederick in 1851 - he and brother Thomas missing from there too!) Jay

Jay, I've tried the most basic of searches in various ways and the only male RUDD family members born in Sheffield in 1841 (+ or - 1 year) that I can find are as follows, Sheffield - Ecclesall Bierlow (14 Cliffe Street) Thomas RUDD (born: Sheffield) Age: 30, Occupation: Scissor Maker Living as a lodger with George & Mary TURNER London - Bethnall Green (13 Charles Street) Henry E. RUDD (born: Sheffield) Age: 30, Occupation: Coach Painter Living with wife Sarah Ann & Family. Looks like Frederick and family are hiding behind one of those brick walls.
