Handsworth/Wolodhouse was just a small meeting but Balby was a main one for the area. Their meetings were often held quite far away from where people lived and I found some Chesterfield Quakers attending the Balby area which is some distance away. I think that you should try and find out about the history of the Quakers in this district perhaps from the Society of Friends, Euston Road, London or The Secretary Quaker Family History Society - Liz Butler 1 Ormond Crescent Hampton London TW12 2TJ Email: _info@qfhs.co.uk_ (mailto:info@qfhs.co.uk) Hope this helps Best wishes JUDY ELKINGTON _http://www.elkingtonfamily.com_ (http://www.elklingtonfamily.com/) ELKINGTON-L@rootsweb.com http://www.one-name.org/profiles/elkington.html
