    3. Dear Margaret, By the 1830's the Parish of Sheffield had at least two chapels-of-ease, at Ecclesall and Attercliffe, where baptisms would have taken place. If these registers are not in the City archives, then they may be with the parishes these chapels eventually became. In addition there was also St. Paul's Church, demolished in the 1930's and now the site of the Peace Gardens, and St. James' Church, blitzed in the 1940's and now the site of the NUM Headquarters (St. James' House). When I assisted the Cathedral Archivist 20 years ago, these registers were kept with the Cathedral's. It at least gives you some other places to look if there's nothing in the Cathedral registers.
