Patrick, I have just searched through all of my maps (Alan Godfrey editions and original old copies) and cannot find any mention of a Dun Street at Attercliffe-Cum-Darnall. The only suggestion that I can make (as you mentioned Carbrook) is could it be Dunlop Street which is at Carbrook (still there today) and is quite a long road, long enough to have had all of those houses on that you mentioned. Dear Jeremy, Richard and Gordon Thanks for your help. My friend knows Dunlop Street very well. She's just told me by phone that as a little girl she used to go up and down that street many times. She had no idea that Dunlop Street was where her Gt Grandparents lived in 1871. Many thanks again Patrick
