    3. Hi All, Can anyone tell me where Tickhill is? I have an ancestor who appears on all the censuses with a birthplace of Malpass Hill, Yorkshire - however, on the 1861 it says Tickhill, Malpass Hill, Yorkshire. Am I right in presuming that Malpass Hill is an area of Tickhill? If so, I have knocked another brick out of my wall, and gone back a bit further in time! Many thanks, Linda

Hello Linda, There is information about Tickhill here... http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/YKS/WRY/Tickhill/ I found a listing for an 1841 census booklet including Malpass Hill in the Maltby area, which is not far to the west of Tickhill - http://www.parishchest.com/en-gb/dept_278.html Hugh in Sheffield ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mel & Linda Kirby" <l.kirby2@btinternet.com> To: <ENG-SHEFFIELD-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, February 09, 2005 8:51 PM Subject: [SHEFF] Tickhill > Hi All, > Can anyone tell me where Tickhill is?
