    3. Hi Caroline There are a lot of errors in the 1901, mainly due to the farming out of the transcribing to overseas transcribers. However, you can fill in a form on the 1901 website and ask them to amend - but you need to see the original page first to see if it is a transcription error as it might in fact say Barnsley because the enumerator was told her birthplace was Barnsley.
