Clun Street was/is an extension of Clun Road. It simply changes from "Road" to "Street" when it jig-jogs across Ellesmere Street. (Ellesmere veers of Spital Hillwhere it curves into Burngreave Road). Both are a short walk from Burngreave Cemetery and would be in Pitsmoor, close to Attercliffe I believe. My g-g-g-grandmother lived on Clun Road from the 1860/70's on and my g-g-grandmother raised her family in Bressingham Road which is one street below Clun. My mother was born there in 1921 when her mother went home to give birth. I stayed there for a short time as a very small child in 1947, though of course, I have no recollection. When I visited this neighbourhood in 2001, I was so disappointed, as all of the houses on Clun and Bressingham Roads had been torn down sometime after 1971 when I last visited. It was truly the end of a family era that I had heard much about. But, I do have a few photos from the earlier visit to remember. A little bit of trivia that I can share, Chris in Ontario ORIGINAL MESSAGE I know this may be too late and wrong but some years ago I had trouble with a relation of my wife [gt gt gt grandmother] living in No 8 Clun St. The enumerators writing was difficult and at one stage I thought it could have been Dun St. There are a Clun St and Clun Road still in existence I finally found.
