On this specific point, I wonder if Mike can estimate a percentage for completeness, and if there is a reason for the missing persons. On a more general point, we should all be aware that all record sets, even official ones are always incomplete for a variety of reasons. For example, not all English BMDs were registered after 1837, and even those that were registered were not indexed properly. FreeBMD is a transcription which can introduce more errors (and catch some original ones).
