Hello List, Just yesterday we found the following reference to a daughter of my 3Xs great grandad Charles Dixon. Her name was Elizabeth Dixon. She married Joseph Muscroft a Batchelor aged 31 (she was 32) at All Sts. Rotherham. Marriage after Banns Aug 9th 1852, Occupation, blade grinder. He died Jun Qtr. 1857 in Sheffield. They had as far as I know only one daughter Elizabeth Muscroft who was born 1856 or thereabouts. She was 5 years old on the 1861 Sheffield census. She appears as living with a great aunt (Harriet Webster, (likely a sister of Eleanor Webster wife of Charles Dixon mentioned above) in London on the 1871 census at the age of 15 years. Joseph Muscroft's father was a Stephen Muscroft a Cordwainer. I don't know if he was living in Rotherham... does anyone know or have any connection to these particular Muscrofts. kindest regards, Josephine, Ontario, Canada.
