I'm hoping someone will be able to help me locate a book I borrowed from the library 3 or 4 years ago. I'm fairly certain it was Hunter's Hallamshire and I photocopied the pedigree of STEAD of Onesacre and a few other pages. Unfortunately, I've misplaced the piece of paper I had the book details written down on but I believe it had Volume II written on it. I went back to the library yesterday and borrowed Hunter's Hallamshire - I was given the 1819 edition, brought up from the basement as was the case last time. I asked if there were different volumes and was told there was only the one book. Although this book looks like the right one, I find that this isn't the same book that I had before as the information is just not there (my copies have page numbers). The one I borrowed previously covered a much wider area, containing pages for Priory of Bretton and Ardsley as well as Hallamshire (page headings). I believe there are other editions of this book (my Dad got some info off the library computer today - there were versions dated 1829, 1869 and 1875) so would there be lots of additional information in the later editions? In other words, if I were to get a copy of the latest edition would I get everything from the 1819 version and all the extra info from subsequent editions? The photocopies I have look very much as though they come from Hallamshire but now I'm beginning to wonder if I should be looking for a different book altogether. Does anyone out there know? Any help very much appreciated. Many thanks.
