Hi I am not sure if the registrars people would answer questions from anyone not in the family as it is a very busy office.. Secondly they have recently moved their office so may still be unpacking various registers, etc. I believe that a local history society is putting their details on line but it is not yet completed. Enclosing a stamped addressed envelope is always good. You could send the details to the GRO in Southport and they will undertake a search but of course you would have to pay a fee, as you would in Sheffield if they were doing a search for you.
