Hello Judy, I don't have any connections to the WHITWORTH family but I do have a small extract about Burrowlee House which I could send to you which is taken from a book I have, 'Hillsborough by her People' (by: Hillsborough Local History Group). Having said that, the extract does not mention anything about the WHITWORTH family. The only names mentioned are Thomas STEADE who had the house built in 1711 and his wife Elizabeth CRESWICK (from the CRESWICK family who were Lords of the Manor of Owlerton). There is also a nice pen & ink drawing of the house which I could scan for you if this would be of use. If you have MS Word I could put both the drawing and text together and send off-list.
