I have just made a wonderful discovery this week. I have been researching history of Sheffield United Harriers up to c1920 and managed to find someone who has the original Humberstone Cup for athletics in his attic!!. (Its a long story!)He sent me a digital photo inscribed with a list of winners inc my great grandfather William Doubleday PIPER. Here are all the names on the cup.I can send a digital photo if you spot any ancestors. My contact has also sent me copies of the Sheffield United Harriers minute book c1899-1901 and i am busy transcribing names. This is a unique document I will post a list of names asap and deposit a copy at the Sheffield archives soon.
