Hello, re Fred Morton This man is driving me insane! I am trying to establish his parentage, for which I need his birth certificate. On 1851 census he is 8yrs old, living with grandmother Mary. On 1861 he is a 17 yr old apprentice file cutter,living with a family called Crookes. 1871 he is 27, living with wife and baby daughter. on 1881 he is 37yr old widow. I have searched all quarters in 1844, also 1843 and 1845 but cannot find his birth reference. The only Fred Morton I can find was registered in Belper - surely he should have been registered in Eccleshall Bierlow. If anyone has any ideas I would be extremely grateful before I go completely mad! Lesley
