hi gordon and list he is a john TRAVIS aged 43 stone mason living treeton yorkshire he is on the 1851 census 2343 section 4 page 17 that i got from stepping stones.i cant get a copy of it to the list as i dont know how to cut them down. useless i am. i know he was born yorkshire and all his children were born in treeton as i have all the babtism dates for them. and so i know he is the right person just could not fathom out were he came from, but he came from what looks like coustie or couslie in yorkshire.i have not been able to find him on the 1871 census on ancestry he could have died but i had found a buriel at treeton for a john travis 1877 aged 71.so he should be alive for the 1871 census. carol slater from sheffield SheffGens <SheffGens@blueyonder.co.uk> wrote: Hi Carol Can you say where you found the the name. ie. which census and the piece and page # so I can have a look at it.
