    3. Hello List, Just thought I would update the folk who kindly helped me with the JENKINSON info recently. As I said in my earlier messages, I sent for the birth certificate for the Richard JENKINSON that I found born in the March Qtr 1862 and I have received the certificate this morning. Good news, it's the right one and the information that Karen Lightowler and Tracey (Leicestershire) sent me was correct. Also, the assumptions that I had arrived at (based on Karen & Tracey's info) was also correct, see my original snippet below, "Tracey kindly provided me with (from the 1881 Census) Richard TINKINSON, aged: 18, a Trammer Coal Miner, born: Stannington and living with grandparents John & Ruth MARSHALL at Hunshelf/Deepcar. I have now found this John & Ruth MARSHALL in the 1841, 1851 and 1871 Census records and believe that my Michael JENKINSON (or whatever other surname variant he uses) may have married one of John & Ruth MARSHALL's daughters, possibly their daughter Mary (b: c1842) which would make her approx 20 years of age when Richard was born in 1862". Richard is the son of Michael JENKINSON and I was also correct in my assumption that he would probably have been the son of John & Ruth MARSHALL's daughter Mary, see details of certificate below, When & where born: 27th January 1862 Name: Richard Name & surname of father: Michael JENKINSON Name & maiden surname of mother: Mary JENKINSON formerly MARSHALL Occupation of father: Miner for Water Comp. Sig/Res of informant: the mark of Mary JENKINSON, mother, Stannington, Bradfield This little snippet for Karen Lightowler, Karen, as Michael JENKINSON is listed as a Miner for Water Company and the year on the certificate is 1862, is it reasonably safe to assume that he would probably been involved in the construction of the Bradfield dams, possibly Dale Dyke? So all in all a great result thanks in particular to Karen & Tracey and many others who all offered advice. Just got to get the research going now on my newly found JENKINSON's and a whole new MARSHALL family.
