The reason being my grandparents lived at 23 Writtle Street (Now Maxwell place/street) and I can remember visiting them many times back in the 50s as a small boy. On a couple of visits back there a few years ago I noted that numbers 31 to 37 were still standing, unfortunately no one was around or I may have been tempted to inquire as to what has changed in the buildings.
