Hi Gordon, Do you have the 1871 Census name index? Any chance you could do a look-up for me? John FOSTER, born Sheffield about 1849 is leading me a merry dance. He married my ancestor, Ann PRINCE of Stanton in the Peak, about 1870 (at Eccleshall I assume). He married Ann's sister, Mary, on 18th August 1881 at Fairfield, Derbyshire, allegedly after Ann died. A third sister, Elizabeth PRINCE had a daughter called Mary FOSTER in 1884! On the 1881 Census, John is an unemployed cab driver, aged 31, at Broomhall Street, Eccleshall Bierley.
