Hello Karen & List, Thanks for the reply. I'm trying to stay calm here and not get over excited but I think that what you've given me below looks very very promising indeed. Having said that, I've just been searching on my 1841 and 1851 Bradfield Census CD's expecting to find a Michael JINKINSON (born c1836) but cannot find the man (or any JINKINSON's) in Bradfield in any of these census years. I've just been searching the LDS site for his name and the checking the other way round on the Hugh Wallis pages under Bradfield & Stannington and still no JINKINSON's have come to light. I've heard people talk about brick walls before but I think this JINKINSON/JENKINSON family have borrowed a redundant section of the Berlin Wall to hide behind. If there's anyone else out there that can elaborate on the info that Karen has given below I would be most grateful. Hi Jeremy Would it be possible for SKS who has access to the 1861 Census to see if they could find my 3rd G.Grandfather, Michael JENKINSON please? There are no entries for Michael JENKINSON in the 1861 census name index for Sheffield but there is a Micahel JINKINSON. He was a 25 year old unmarried lodger living at Hill, Bradfield, in the household of Stonemason John Couldwell. He was a mine labourer born in Bradfield.
