Vicki Theaker and Jeremy Crowshaw recently exchanged postings on the List reference the OATES family of Sheffield. I have an interest albeit slender but the following small item might fit somewhere into one or other of your lines:- Sarah OATES b.1797, daughter of a Cutler, married 27 August 1820 at Sheffield Parish Church to William PEACE b.1792, filesmith etc. family business - William & Samuel PEACE. Sarah & William had 7 children before William died at the age of 42 yrs. (20 October 1834). The business was continued by Sarah and the sons. In the 1841 census Sarah and the 7 children were living at No.34 Garden Street. My slender connection is on the PEACE side but I hope that this item might be of some interest to Vicki and/or Jeremy if they do not already have it.
