    3. hello Caroline, Surprisingly I couldn't find a bicycle making business listed in the directories for 1901 (online) or 1919/20 (on disk), although there are related occupations. Bicycle making may be an off shoot of someone's main business. Just for interest I looked to see what bicycle related occupations there were in Sheffield in 1891 - here is a list: bicycle manufacturer bicycle manufacturers labourer bicycle maker 8 bicycle maker's apprentice bicycle spoke maker 5 bicycle spoke butter bicycle spoke header 2 bicycle spoke wiper bicycle tyre maker bicycle tyre fitter 3 bicycle tire roller bicycle tyre brazier bicycle tyre grinder bicycle wheel maker bicycle rim maker foreman bicycle rim dept bicycle handle buffer 2 bicycle & umbrella handle wiper (female) bicycle wire maker bicycle smith bicycle fitter 3 works in bicycle shop dealer in piano & bicycles bicycle salesman A search of a wider selection of directories might turn up a business in the Broad Lane area. It could have been in the Broad Lane area of Sheffield but how do I find out about this factory/business? If anyone can help thanks > > >
