Hi Lisa, As the saying goes "don't throw the Baby out with the bath water"......... I have a feeling that George was maybe married to someone before Annis??? and the mother of George Jnr. My reason for this is the following. 1861 census index. 3463 - 96b. which covers Nether Hallam. George aged 27 born Owlerton as they all were. Anise aged 17 Alfred aged 24. Charles aged 22. Fred 19 George Witham aged 3. On the 1871 census I see that they live at 43 Heavygate Road...... My neck of the woods........ Anise's age is 34 so incorrect on the 1861 census. Their children have some of the same names as the brothers of Georges....... I found the following at St Mary's Walkley Cemetery so Hugh might be able to give you the grave number......
