I wonder if anyone on the list could do me a look up please? Two of my Williamson ancestors are on the 1841 census index and wonder if you could tell me which county they were born in? They were William aged 66 at 1337/1 folio 8b and John aged 55 at 1337/1 folio 14a. Thanks. Barbara Horne. Sheffield.

The 1841 census that we are placing on line at here is the URL.............. . http://www.sheff-indexers.thewholeshebang.org/1841census but we had to leave some of the information off or it would not have been an index.... One that we left off was place of birth....... as you have found out, but on the 1841 census it asks the question were you born in the county or Not. so yes and no. They have in many cases stated if they were Irish or Scottish. The area around Campo Lane seems to have a large number of Irish families in 1841. For Barbara.........
