Hi to Sheffield List, After a long period of absence from this list, while I was searching another family line, I am rejoining the list and have an interest in the John and Matilda BROOMHEAD family, especially their daughter Anne. I believe they were married in 1836, had several other children, and I know that Anne was born March 28, 1851 (since the 1851 census for the family says they had an UN-NAMED, four-day old daughter and the census was taken on April 1). I have been unable to find her birth certificate; so am now also interested in a baptism record for her. A Sheffield Archivist told me that the family was in St.Peter & Paul (Sheffield Cathedral) parish at that time since they lived first on Sidney Street, then Egerton, and Clarence Streets in various census years. I do know that in the 1861 census this un-named daughter was named Anne, and this girl was my great grandmother Anne BROOMHEAD GATLEY;. Does anyone have a list of this parish's ( or Cathedral's) surnames from around 1836 to 1850 or so that would include this BROOMHEAD family? Would such a list include or be a help in finding their marriage or Anne's baptism? Any help gladly appreciated. Marian Gatley Mahon Richmond, Virginia USA
