Hi Margaret :-) According to private submissions on the IGI a Tabitha ELLIOTT married Joseph SHAW 1790 in Glossop, Derbyshire and then had 7 children there. In 1760 she gave birth to a daughter Tabathy, and in 1763 to a son Richard. No father named. I am assuming she did not marry, but have not thus far been able to find her death in Handsworth. The copy of the bishop's transcript I was able to look at was very poor, and illegible in parts, so I wondered if any sort of index was available for it? Her son Richard married in Sheffield, so it is possible she had moved her family there. Does a record of her death appear on any Sheffield Indexes?
