George was a Cutler, and my Gt (x4) Grandfather Sarah married John Holmes b1826 Sheffield on 26 Feb 1845 in Sheffield. John was a Coal Miner. They produced 10 children starting with Henry Holmes b1846 and ended with Walter Holmes in 1869, all in Sheffield. I would have missed this list if it were gone. I am researching Bateman, Middleton, Nicholson, Barnett all in Sheffield. I have had much help from this list in the last 10 years. I am still looking for possible relatives to these families. My g.g.grandmother was Amelia Middleton Bateman (married William Leedale late in life) She was born around 1835 in Sheffield. Father was John mother not known. Her husband , Enoch Bateman was born in Thorn and then lived in Sheffield after their marriage in 1851. They had 6 children, John, Jane, Mary, James (my g.grandfather), Emily and Ellen. This is why the list is important to me.
