    3. Hello DeAnne and Lisa, The Wheel is a street name which still exists. It is a section of the road that runs west from Ecclesfield Village towards Grenoside. White's 1919/20 Directory includes the following : Parker, David file manufacturer (D. & Sons), Lynwood, The Wheel Parker, Mrs. Jane cowkeeper The Wheel Parker, Norman Wm. file manufr (D Parker & Sons), Oakdene, The Wheel Parker, D. & Sons file manufrs. Excelsior Works, Station road There are lots of Parkers in Ecclesfield in 1901. I think the following household may include the Thomas mentioned on that site and Mrs Jane the cowkeeper from the directory: 1901 census index census place: Yorks Ecclesfield Thomas Parker 60 Farmer Yorks Ecclesfield Jane Parker 61Yorks Ecclesfield Frank Parker 23 Joiner Yorks Ecclesfield Thomas Parker 20 Farmers Son Yorks Ecclesfield Hugh ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lisa Brammer" <[email protected]> To: "DeAnne Rosen" <[email protected]> Cc: "Sheffield list" <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, August 06, 2007 8:12 AM Subject: Re: [SHEFF] Fw: Re family history > Hi DeAnne > > I had Roscoe Wheel on one of my census retruns (Roscoe Wheel is one of the waterwheels along Rivelin valley) it could be that he lived/worked at a waterwheel - which being a file cutter and cow keeper is feasible. > > Lisa > SHEFFIELD > ----- Original Message ---- > From: DeAnne Rosen <[email protected]> > To: Eng-Sheffield <[email protected]>; [email protected] > Sent: Monday, 6 August, 2007 1:05:41 AM > Subject: Re: [SHEFF] Fw: Re family history > > > Thank you, Hugh, for this site. > > I was interested in the Church Street photo.
