I would like to add my thanks to those of Kay to Gordon for all his work as Administrator of the list. Best wishes to you for the New Year. Enumeration Districts and parishes I am a little puzzled by 1841 census districts. I think I have found Sarah Bell widowed in Webster Yard in Spring St. in 1841 and she is living off the parish.. It appears that this is about where the current Sheffield magistrates' courts are. The summary of her on the Ancestry website gives the district as Strafforth and Tickhill (South Division) Her eldest son John was born in Bramley near Rotherham which is in the parish of Braithwell which is, according to the Wickersley website also in Strafforth and Tickhill. (Upper Division) Could she before the death of her husband which was around 1839-40 have been living in the Bramley area near Rotherham and then been living off the Parish in Spring Street or does it mean that they had left Bramley and were living in Webster Yard or somewhere in the same parish before her husband died? The Strafforth Tickhill area seems quite large and I assume there are no records for 1831 like there are for Nether Hallam. Any insights would be helpful.
