Hi I wonder if someone could help and tell me where Navigation Hill is or was in Sheffield. I think it must have been somewhere near the Park area of Sheffield as that's where my husband's BENSON relatives lived at the time of the death of Reuben BENSON at the age of 6 in 1922. At the time of his death he was living in Lord Street with his parents and siblings. Below is the insertion from the Sheffield Telegraph Sheffield Telegraph, 20/08/1922 "BOY's 40 FOOT FALL" A verdict of "accidental death" was recorded at a Sheffield inquest on Reuben Benson (6) of 14 court 9 House Lord Street who fell from the parapet of the railway bridge at Navigation Hill to the railway 40 feet below. There was no adult witness of the fall and no coherent story was forthcoming from the children who were playing near. P.C. Peak, Coroner's Officer, stated that the stone buttresses of the bridge were damaged, apparently by children scrambling on the, and he was of the opinion that the lad had ventured on to the parapet from the buttresses." I have tried Googling but nothing seems to come up. Many thanks June Sheffield UK

If you can find a street atlas c1950 - 60 it should be there. Stuart Reeves > I wonder if someone could help and tell me where Navigation Hill is or was > in Sheffield.
