    3. Dear Listers I am looking for the death of an ancestor around 1839. He was born in Brampton South Yorkshire though his wife in 1841 is living off the parish in Sheffield .Can anyone tell me whether the Brampton where the vol. number is XXV is the Brampton near Leeds? Would Brampton near Rotherham be vol XXII as is Rotherham and Sheffield? With 10 possibles to go at I'd like to eliminate a few! 3. Hello all I don't think there's a Brampton near Leeds but there is a Bramley. There isn't a Brampton near Chesterfield, it's Old Brampton, which is a couple of miles west of Chesterfield. And there are loads of Bramptons around the rest of the country. On balance, I would think the Rotherham one is the safest bet. Kind regards - Ann > Dear Listers > I am looking for the death of an ancestor around 1839.
