Hi Hugh, I'm sorry that I didn't get back to you to thank you sooner for finding the baptisms of Charles and Ada Smith in Heeley. (Only just viewed the weekend postings now.) Anyway, it would seem that Charles was either born in the first or second quarter, as it's hard to tell as often the baptism took place some time after a birth(?). As to Ada, this is the first time that I have 'heard' of her. Perhaps, she was born in the previous year or so and was baptized due to ill health(?). She is not on the 1901 census and my mother never mentioned her. Now, I will have to 'bite the bullet' and order the certificates. Thank you for your generous help. And Thanks to John for his transcription work. Chris in Ontario MESSAGE FROM HUGH WATERHOUSE Would this be him?...
