Presuming that he is only writing about the batch imputs by the mormon church this is not always the case the entry in the IGI usually gives the film/ type of record it is transcribed from. for internet IGI entries click on Source Call No. on familysearch.org to find out. I would agree that there is sometimes more information on the parish register than either the bishops transcripts or the IGI kind regards John Ferguson
