Hi Mary, I would certainly investigate! I would also suggest that it's a good idea to look at adjacent graves. I've just been researching a friends family history. One of his ancestors died at a very young age in a mining accident at Birley, and was buried at Intake. For years, my friend has been putting flowers on the grave. When we uncovered the maiden name of his widow, my friend realised straight away, that the wife's parents (his gg-grandparents) were in the adjacent grave. All the years that he's been visiting the cemetery, he never knew their names, or that they were buried there. So now he's putting flowers on both graves! regards Richard Mary Berthold wrote: > Hi Everyone, > > Does anyone know whether people listed in the same grave in the Sheffield General Cemetery would be related?
