    3. Hi, I happen to have a copy of a booklet " for the love of the children, author : Marjorie P. Dunn. a story of the poor children of sheffield and of FULWOOD COTTAGE HOMES.IsBNo-9513824-0-3. designed and printed in England by the print and Design factory, Sheffield. Two men, Cyril A rthur Pearson, and Francis Joseph Trotman dedicated a large part of their lives to the welfare of children. In 1891 cyril arthur Pearso, later to be Sir arthur Pearson owned a national Magazine"Pearson's weekly launched a scheme to raise money to give hundreds of poor  London children a good christmas dinner children.From the very beginning Pearson worked in conjunction with sir John kirk of the Ragged School union. F.A.F. In 1893  a group of Sheffield School Teacher's met in the Carver Street School rooms because they were concerned about tye conditions in which they were living. as a result of this meeting they decided to apply for funds from the F.A.F in london and were successful. those funds continued until the late 1930's and even later for many years to come contributions were sent to Fairthorn home in Dore.
