    3. I finally found an ancestor who seemed to be missing on the 1841 census. She was listed as a patient in the "Sheffield General Infirmary" at census time. Does anyone know of research that might have been done on the Infirmary during that period. It would be interesting to know even its location or a bit of history. Alan researching Malone, Holland and Ball in Sheffield.

    3. hello Alan, The building still exists and it is one of my favourite buildings in Sheffield. You can find lots of images at http://www.picturesheffield.com (search for Royal Infirmary) The Infirmary opened on October 4th 1797.
