Hi everyone, Put it down to grouchiness because I am battling a stinking cold, to the crabiness often associated with senior citizens, or just to downright cussedness, but since I posted the last update, it appears that more and more people are incapable of reading the printed - or should I say emailed - word. Please don't take me wrong. I really appreciate the excitement that a possible twig to a tree creates, the hope that submitting a surname to my database might help find those twigs, the great help from what I now call my "email police" who inform me of bouncing emails that I would otherwise not discover, the eagerness to inform me of changes, but.... Please note the following, again: ALL CORRESPONDENCE to me regarding the YKS Surnames List is to be addressed to YKSSURNAMES@YAHOO.COM, not to the email from which YKS notices are posted. When asking me to update your email address, you MUST include BOTH your OLD AND your NEW addresses in the text of your message. There are more than 24,000 submitted surnames and I need the OLD address to be able to find your entry(ies) quickly. I do not have time to scroll the entire database to find individual entries and even if I did, there are duplicate names and surnames and I have no other way to identify the correct submitter. Also, if you do not include your new address in the body of the text, I have to make a handwritten note of the email from which you sent me the request and that also takes time - not much, I agree, but it all adds up. I'm always happy to help and answer procedural questions, but if you are having trouble submitting a surname, please read the instructions first. You'll find them at: http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/YKS/YKSlist/. <http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/YKS/YKSlist/> You might want to bookmark that link for future reference. Now that was a short and sweet message. Please bear with my foibles and make life easier for me. Now I've got that off my chest, I'll stop shouting at you all and go make a nice hot lemon and honey drink to soothe my throat and go to bed . It's icy cold out there and a bitter north wind is blowing over Northern Portugal from the snow-covered hills of Spain. A warm drink, a good book, under the covers, warm dachshund on bed keeping my toes warm and cuddly cat on my lap.... heaven! Goodnight everyone, Magdalena List Administrator for the YKS Surnames List
