Anne I have a great great great Grandmother Mary Ann Leadbeter ( I believe her father was John Leadbeter) who was born in Sheffield in 1811 or so who married John Moorhouse my great great great Grandfather born in 1810 they were married some time around 1837 - 1840. They moved to the U.S. about 1849 or 1850 with there family William 1840, George 1842 about, and Mary 1845. I haven't been able to go any further back than this with one exception one record I found of John's father named John wife's last name Grindle but can't be too sure of this. If your Emily is any way related to Mary Ann this may be something. Let me know if this is any help.
