    2. Keith, Just got carried away and contradicted myself. There was no census taken in 1941 due to the 2nd WW. 1. Re: Advise required
    2. Keith, You're in for a long wait I'm afraid. Censuses have been held every 10 years since 1801 (except 1941) but only those since 1841 are available. The 1841 return is not so helpful as the later ones. The latest census available is the 1901 as returns are only released after 100 years. The 1911 Census will be the next to be released, probably online in 2012 so the 1921 won't be until 2022, the 1931 until 2032 and the 1941 until 2042, assuming were all still around then. It will be work for our children to continue. 3. > > > Gooday Aileen, > I noted your relative E Machin who lived at 33 Writtle street back in the 1920s. I would be interested to know the christian name could it be Eileen?? The reason being my grandparents lived at 23 Writtle Street (Now Maxwell place/street) and I can remember visiting them many times back in the 50s as a small boy. I have a few pictures of the place as well. On a couple of visits back there a few years ago I noted that numbers 31 to 37 were still standing, unfortunately no one was around or I may have been tempted to inquire as to what has changed in the buildings. If you would like any other info contact me off list and I'll be only to glad to help. > > Alan Jeffery in sunny Queensland OZ

    3. Subject: Advise required Hi List Like most other lister's, I have a mystery. Can anyone advise? Searching for Sarah Evelyn Dawson b:1905 Kirton, Lincolnshire and Emily Bona Dawson b:1908 Sheffield. They came from Linc's about 1906. Lived at Park Hill area. They both went into service in Sheffield area in 1922 at the death of their mother Rose Hannah. Sarah worked for a doctor for many years. Emily in Sheffield and occasional summers near Hyde Park, London was a companion to other younger children. (Maybe same family name Dawson or Belcher ????) It may be possible to follow Sarah Evelyn in 1921,1931,1941 census. Emily married in 1928 and moved to USA. When should 1921-41 census be viewable ???(Sarah stayed in England). Please note! I have information from 1928 for Emily Bona Dawson, (Just need to view 1921 census for Emily.) Hope Some Kind Person can advise me. Keith (Canada)

His name was HENRY PERRY born in Ilminster Somerset abt 1837. I have found his wife still said to be married according to the census living in Sunderland with children. Any help much appreciated. 2. Lesley Shaw
    3. Hello, re Fred Morton This man is driving me insane! I am trying to establish his parentage, for which I need his birth certificate. On 1851 census he is 8yrs old, living with grandmother Mary. On 1861 he is a 17 yr old apprentice file cutter, living with a family called Crookes. 1871 he is 27, living with wife and baby daughter. on 1881 he is 37yr old widow. I have searched all quarters in 1844, also 1843 and 1845 but cannot find his birth reference. The only Fred Morton I can find was registered in Belper - surely he should have been registered in Eccleshall Bierlow. If anyone has any ideas I would be extremely grateful before I go completely mad! Lesley
