I am still searching for information about John Fitzgerald, born in Ireland. He was a laborer and bar keeper in Rotherham from about 1854-1882. He was the licensee for the Wagon Wheel Arms, renamed the Royal George in the late 1860's to early 1870's. He was born about 1828-1830. His wife was (Margaret) Ann Gaynor. She was born about 1831-32. There children were Mary Ann, (died in 1874) John,( died in April,1883 ) Frederick, Anna,James, Esther, Nora and Mary (named after the first Mary) . Ann Fitzgerald, John's wife, died in 1882. I can't find her date of death or place of death but it was likely still in the Rotherham or Sheffield area. I can't find them in the 1881 Census online but I know the children were living in Rotherham in 1883. The son, John, was killed by his brother Frederick in an altercation. After the initial investigation he was bound over to the Azziz. (?) I don't know the result of that but young Fred did come to the US later. He stayed a short time and returned to England. He had a daughter in England,Lucy Fitzgerald. John( the father) immigrated about 1881 and eventually all the children joined him in the United States. Info I am searching for : where in Ireland were John and his wife born? when and where did (Margaret) Ann Fitzgerald die and where is she buried? What happened at the trial of Frederick ? Where was Fred's daughter born and what happened to her? She was probably born about 1895-1900.
