Hello Listers I am new to the list and haven't posted my names before. If anyone has links to these names I would like to hear from you. George Smith NEWSUM was born between 1837 & 1839 according to varying ages provided at census and marriage. I have not found him on BMD. He married Mary Jane WALKER (2nd wife) 5 Sept 1881 at Parish of Eastwood, Rotherham. Mary Jane (b. abt 1850) was the dau of Robert Turner WALKER and Sarah. >From this marriage were born: Henry Darnley 1884 (Dec qtr) Gertrude Sybil 24 Jan 1887 (my gmother) Arthur Cecil 1890 (Sept qtr) His first marriage was to Jane BRAMHAM and I know of 3 children: Kate b. 1866 (June qtr) George b. 3 Oct 1872 (have birth cert) William b. abt 1875 If SKS has access to 1871 or earlier census could they check whether there were any children born before 1866? I have info from 1881 & 1891 census. Could someone shed some light on an apparent duplication of these children in 1881 census: the children are listed as living with their father at Doncaster Gate 1 Court 3 where George is called "John". They are also listed as niece/nephew living with Jane Hollingshead at 18 Eastwood Lane??!! In 1891 Robert & Sarah WALKER were living with their dau and son-in-law. Robert was b. abt 1820 Balby, Yorks. Sarah b. abt 1818 in South Kirby, Yorks. I do not have her maiden name. TIA Pat Daubney in Bloemfontein, South Africa
