    3. Dear John, I'm afraid the information is very sketchy. The only reference we have to the TAYLOR surname is from a family tree typed up many years ago by an unknown person, where my g grandmother appears to have a sister, Mary TAYLOR, which we have taken as evidence that she married a Mr TAYLOR (christian name unknown). I suppose I should see if I can find their marriage in the St Catherine House Index. Below are the full details of Mary's family that we know of so far: George KAY (my gg granfather), 23 son of ? KAY & ??, m. Ann CASSON, 23 on December 25 1846 by Banns in the Parish of Sheffield (NOTE: this family was living at Low Winkobank at the time of the 1881 Census, Ann's widowed mother Ann CASSON aged 90 & blind was living with them then). Emma KAY (my g grandmother b. Nov 16 1848 Grenoside or Shire Green?, Yorkshire, d. Nov 21 1925 Methven, New Zealand) m. William CARR Ann KAY, b. bet. 1857-58 at Ecclesfield, warehouse assistant (1881 Census), m. ? WHITBREAD (I think ?) Mary KAY, b. ? at ?, m. ? TAYLOR (I think ?) Sorry, the information is so vague on the TAYLOR side, and so may not be much use to you. Will let you know if ever I come up with anything more detailed. Kind regards Malcolm Carr (Christchurch, New Zealand)
