    3. Hello Robin, Just one idea when searching for James LEVER. My maiden name is LEVERS and through research I've found that all the following can be used for LEVERS - LEVER, LEAVER, LEIVER, LEAVERS, LEIVERS, LEIVARS etc Its a very common name in Nottinghamshire. Also, on the 1881 census, I have one family I could not find - then I thought about mistranscriptions and found them under the name SEVERS.The "L" was obviously misjudged as an "S". Also, try SEWERS. (There is absolutely no doubt that they are my LEVERS family!! Same names, ages, birthplaces, inlaws, address etc etc) I've also found a BARKER family mistranscribed on the 1881 census as BODEN - but yet again, no doubt at all - I even looked at the original census, and yes they were BARKERs!! Just an idea - hope you find your family!! Best Wishes Valerie Chesterfield
