I am looking for any information on the Didsbury/Boomer families. My gg-grandfather, John Didsbury, was married in 1832 to Harriott Boomer. Harriott's parents were Benjamin Boomer and Mary Hall and they lived at a place called Hawarth (Howarth) Hall. When John married Harriott, they lived at a place called Spa (Spar) House in Treeton, and three of Harriott's sisters, who were unmarried, lived there until they died (I believe the last one died in 1885). Thomas Didsbury, John's brother, stayed on in Rotherham; they had both inherited quite a bit of land from Richard Didsbury, their uncle, who owned quite a bit of property in Rotherham, Sheffield and surrounding towns. John went to Canada with his family, where Harriott died 12 yrs later. Thomas stayed in Rotherham and I believe he was married to a Margaret Oxley. John and Thomas had a sister, Mary, who married a Hirst or Hurst. Donna
