Hi My wife and myself are researching her maiden name Oxley, and have traced it back to a James Oxley born c1766 in Greasbrough. My hand written notes from a past visit to Rotherham Library show 2 possibilities James son of Robert + Mary of Gresbrough baptised 23/1/1766 James son of John (poss Jno) + Hannah of Greasbrough baptised 14/12/1766. I can not find any further mention of the second James any where else (IGI etc) I think this may be a error on my part when recording the Greasbrough records, does any body have access to Greasbrough baptism records to check this for me.
