    3. I haven't seen any mail on this list for a few days now - Hence the test. I know that there isn't much activity on this list at the best of times, but a number of the lists that I am on seem to have dried up these last few days. Please forgive the sending of this test message. Kindest regards John Kemp Gloucester UK

    2. Hello John Just to let you know your message got onto the list - I am researching families in the Wentworth, Rotherham area - my great grandfather, Jseph Smith, wsas married to Emily Dobson and they are on the 1881 census with their children, including my grandfather, Algernon Smith. Do you have any links with Wentworth at all? 3. Apparently there have been problems with Rootsweb servers over the last few days, therefore all the lists have been quiet - I assumed it was because of the nice weather we've been having. I do try to encourage folk to post regularly even if it's only to keep the list ticking over, so next time there's a blip in the list please take advantage of it and repost your searches. Alternatively, discussions about Rotherham history are invited - we had a topic a while ago about Roche Abbey which generated quite an interest. Anything to do with Rotherham OK - as long as it's not politics or football - or flower arranging (just so as not to appear sexist!!) best wishes to all Tracy, Listowner
